Kitchens in Fetcham

Kitchens in Fetcham rarely start from a blank page. Most of the village went up during the twentieth century, as the population climbed from just over 400 in 1911 to close to 8,000 by 2011, and the layouts that came with those homes suited a very different way of living. At Lime Designs, we help homeowners work with what the property already offers. Our showroom sits on Dorking High Street, close enough to call in, handle materials properly and talk ideas through without stress.

Older buildings sit alongside all of that. St Mary’s church carries eleventh-century fabric, Fetcham House on Bell Lane dates from the early nineteenth century, and Fetcham Park House stands within the conservation area. Homes here differ widely in age and layout, so kitchens in Fetcham benefit from an approach built around the individual property. Independent and established in 2017, we talk you through the options clearly rather than burying you in variations.

Fetcham is not one age of housing

The Cannon Court estate is recorded as starting around 1935 under local builder Walter Stokes, according to Leatherhead and District Local History Society, whose own records hedge the date. Development continued across the village through the middle of the century, spreading up the lower slopes of the North Downs.

Older buildings survive alongside it. St Mary’s church contains eleventh-century fabric and is the oldest structure in the village. Fetcham House on Bell Lane dates from the early nineteenth century and is Grade II listed. Fetcham Park House, an eighteenth-century mansion, sits within the Fetcham Conservation Area.

That mix matters when you are planning a kitchen. Conservation area status, listed status and green belt land along the northern edge all affect what can be altered and what needs consent. Mole Valley District Council is the planning authority for the village.

Kitchens in Fetcham - Lime Designs

What Lime Designs does

Established in 2017, Lime Designs is an independent business designing and installing kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces. Alongside cabinetry, the building team handles home extensions, structural work and full refurbishments, with trusted trade professionals covering the rest. That means one company and one point of contact across a project rather than several. Beyond kitchens, past work has covered bathrooms, home offices, media walls, boot rooms and exterior building work. By starting with function, we create kitchens that feel intuitive rather than restrictive. Prep areas sit where they are most useful. Storage supports your shopping habits. Appliances integrate seamlessly into the layout instead of dominating it.

This personalised approach also allows us to design kitchens that grow with your needs. Whether you are planning for family life, downsizing, or simply upgrading an outdated space, we ensure the new kitchen supports long-term comfort and practicality.

Supply only, or supply and install

Both routes are available. Supply only suits homeowners who already have a fitter or who are managing a wider renovation themselves. Supply and install covers the whole thing from design through to a finished room.

What projects tend to cost

Past work has ranged from around £5,000 for a refresh through to £500,000 transformations. Finance is available, and the finance page sets out the options.

Recent work near Fetcham

Projects have been delivered across Surrey and Sussex. In Chessington, a super matt rail system kitchen in Marine and New England Oak with brass rails. In Reigate, a modern open-plan kitchen with a Shaker design and a waterfall island, supplied and installed, plus a second Reigate kitchen in Sovereign Shaker painted botanical green.

Closer to the showroom, a kitchen and dining project in Dorking. In Horley, two handleless kitchens: one an inset New England Oak design with graphite rails and an integral J-pull, paired with an anthracite-painted island. The Meadvale project in Horsham covered full kitchen design and installation, and the Newdigate project extended to a media wall, bathroom and building works.

The full set is on the projects page, and current work is posted to Instagram and Facebook.

Worth deciding before the design stage

Storage is where most kitchens are won or lost, so it is worth arriving with a view on it. Drawers beat low cupboards for nearly everything you reach for daily, for the simple reason that you are not down on your knees with a torch hunting for a colander. Corners are the other one to settle early. They swallow more room than people expect, and the way you deal with them changes what the rest of the run can carry.
